Scott Handel has been working in production for over 18 years. As a freelance DP he has brought combination lighting skills and an eye for framing detail to thousands of diverse projects throughout the years. Upon moving back to Ohio 13 years ago he founded Ohio HD Video as a production resource.
Since then Scott has launched Ohio HD Crews & Ohio HD Rental to provide producers top ENG & EFP crews and support gear to deliver dynamic award winning images in Ohio, the Midwest and beyond.

With the addition of three new HD camera packages including our Panasonic HDX-900, Ohio HD Rental offers the widest range of video cameras and tape formats available. Scott Handel
is a veteran DP who has been working in the production industry for over 18 years. Working as an editor and then producer for the first eight years of his career Scott learned what editors need from the cameraman. After transitioning to the field production side of the business Scott decided to go out on his own as a freelancer in 1995.

Crew Terms
Definition of a Day
- Crew and equipment full day rates are based on 10 hours portal to portal. A minimum of a 30 minute scheduled lunch is required and included "on the clock" per ten hours.
- A one half day rate is based on five hours portal to portal. After five hours a full day rate will be charged for crew time.
- Overtime is charged after 10 hours of labor (rates are $75.00 per hour for one-person crew and
$130.00 per hour for two-person crew).
Other Terms & Conditions
- Payments can be made with Cash, Check, Visa or MasterCard.
- Make checks payable to "Scott Handel Productions, Llc."
- Rates are billed portal to portal (from Ohio HD Video's office to location and returning to office).
- Mileage is charged at $0.58/mile after a 50-mile round-trip allowance (per U.S. GSA allowance
effective Jan. 1, 2008). - Travel days are billed as half-days only if no shooting is performed that day.
- All travel and lodge expenses, vehicle mileage, flight costs, meal per diem costs and other "out of pocket" expenses are additional and/or available by bid.
- Video equipment rental, lease, shipping, or insurance rates are billed separately from "services" rates. Please see below for more details.
- Any cancellation or postponement less than 24 hours on the business day prior to a scheduled shoot, 100% of Full rate will be charged. A cancellation or postponement 24-48 hours prior to shoot day, 50% of full rate will be charged. When a cancellation occurs, we will make every attempt to "re-book the crew time and equipment, which can result in a fee savings.
- All Accounts and/or invoices are payable on receipt unless other arrangements have been made prior to time of booking. All accounts and/or invoices that are past due beyond the customer's terms are subject to an additional 2% per month (24% per year) service charge with a $3.00 statement fee. Out of town customers are C.O.D. and/or subject to credit approval before shoot tapes, or other materials will be released.
- Rates will always be negotiable, as every shoot is different (discounts for multiple day shoots)
- These terms are subject to change without notice at any time by Scott Handel Productions, Llc. and/or it's subcontractors, or agents.
Rental Gear Terms
Accounts
To set up an account with Ohio HD Video, a completed business account application should be submitted to our office no less than one week prior to your first use date to ensure sufficient processing time. First time rentals will be C.O.D., but subsequent rentals for approved accounts will be billed on a net 30 basis.
Insurance
The renter must provide Ohio HD Video with a valid certificate of insurance with Ohio HD Video named as the "loss payee" before the release of equipment. The certificate is required to stipulate the following:
GUIDELINES FOR ACCEPTING CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE

Name of Insured must be the same as the customer name on the rental contract.

"Ohio HD Video" must be listed as LOSS PAYEE and ADDITIONAL INSURED as respects to the equipment being rented (as their interests may appear -- ATIMA)

Policy Number, effective date, and date of expiration are needed on the insurance form.

Insurance coverage must be for full equipment value of the rental equipment.

Rental must not extend beyond expiration date.

Coverage must be ALL RISK.

Must include TRANSIT COVERAGE if rental is to be shipped outside of the Columbus area. If TRANSIT COVERAGE is not included on the policy, a declared value must be added to the shipment.

If desired, insurance can be purchased from Ohio HD Video at 10% of the rental cost of the equipment.
We reserve the right to request a deposit prior to rental of an amount equal to the renter's own insurance deductible or equal to the $2,500 deductible which accompanies the insurance offered by Ohio HD Video.
If no insurance is provided the production company takes full responsibility for the safe keeping of rented equipment while in their possession. Any items lost or damaged must be replaced or repaired at the discretion of Ohio HD Video within a 2 week period.
Pick Up and Return
Equipment is generally available for pickup after 3:00PM on the day before your first use day, though this cannot be guaranteed. Prior arrangements must be made if equipment is needed earlier. Returns must be made by 10:00AM on the day following your last use day. Equipment returned after 10:00AM is subject to additional rental charges.
Delivery Service
Deliveries during normal hours of operation within the Central Ohio area are $45.00. Please call for details on other destinations.
